Why storytelling and who is William?
William Mullin is a storyteller, producer, writer, and comedian. He divides his time between New York City and Provincetown. He has performed stand-up and sketch comedy all over New York City, including at Caroline’s, and Gotham Comedy Club.
He has written for numerous performers including actor Jane Lynch. William produced and hosted the successful storytelling show Closet Cases in Provincetown from 2010-2012.
He is a veteran of the storytelling stage. He has performed on The Moth, Risk, Stories from the Stage, and was co-host and co-producer of The Mosquito Story for 4 years.
After writing and performing standup comedy for years, William discovered his comedy involved relaying funny stories about his life, his family, or his day. This led him to storytelling. What he didn’t expect is how much he enjoys others TELLING their stories. “That is where true community comes in, the listening and relating to one’s jubilation, travails, or adventure within their personal, true story.”
“Listening to someone TELL a story is the core of human empathy.”
