Tips to TELLing a good story
Following the below tips will help your story and engage the audience.
Stories are told, not read. Notes are not allowed on stage.
Stories must be about you. You should be the focus and one of the main characters
TELL a story that has a cohesive beginning, middle, and end. A good story is not a stand-up routine, or anecdotes strung together
A good story has some stakes included in it. (What happens if you break up with that person? What will happen if you disobey your Mom?)
Practice your story. The William TELL gives you 7 minutes. You should stay within that timeframe. If you find yourself going over, focus on only the main points of the story.
